Purpose and Destiny:
KNOW YOUR CALLING AND STAY ON YOUR CALLING
Ephesians 4:1-3 ESV
therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
STORY/ TESTIMONY: I remember a pastor, a called apostle of the Lord who ran away from his calling, a Pastor S. He knew his calling as God revealed it to him when he was a teenager. God revealed it to him and everyone knew what he was supposed to become.
But he went away from this God-given calling. He had let himself go away from his God-given destiny. So for more or less than 10 years he became an addict to the point that he would steal from his mother who eventually lost her house because of his addiction. Eventually he got convicted of drug use. In short he lived a life of misery. Until his late 20s when he had an encounter with God and God turned his life around.
A woman of God said this, “When Satan sees you, he sees DESTINY, not for who or where we are now but on who we are about to become, where we are about to go and what we are about to have.”
We go through what we go through because of the destiny coming up ahead of us. I believe that Satan knew Ps. S’s destiny, his calling in life and he also knew the potential he has in crippling the plan of the enemy for man. The enemy knew he has a God-ordained ministry and he was to do signs and wonders for the glory of God so because of that he did all he could to stop that from happening.
The enemy tried so hard to stop him from accomplishing his destiny as a pastor and he was able to accomplish it for 10 years yet because God has a purpose for his life God intervened and made a way for him to realize his errors and go back to God.
So, I believe with ALL my heart that NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS, GOD’S PLAN WILL ALWAYS HAPPEN.
Now Ps. S goes around the world testifying of what God has done and is continually doing in his life and his ministry.
This is a warning and a reminder to us all that life is not a simple thing to trifle with. Our lives are precious before the site of God. The Father gave up His Son for this life. Jesus died on the cross for this life. The Holy Spirit came for this life.
This life is not given to us to simply waste on trivial things. This life is given to us to BY HIS PURPOSE and FOR HIS PURPOSE.
We must make this our very purpose: to live and die for God.
