PS. This is my last entry on Purpose and Destiny.

Proverbs 19:21

“Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.”

God has a plan and purpose in our lives. And it takes courage and boldness to step into that destiny. We are most assured that God has a calling in our lives. God has an ordained plan in our lives. He sets the tone in our lives. (Jeremiah 9:11) He therefore challenges us to stay in our calling even when it’s hard, to face the responsibility attached to the calling He gave us.

In that calling, God has a strategy, God has a plan. But the question is, are we willing to follow the plan God has for us? Even if it sometimes is against our will and wants, can we still do it? Are we willing to push through despite not knowing all that’s ahead of us? We should be because as God has a plan, he also has a strategy. But, it takes our own will to step into that calling. We need to have faith in God. Faith in God brings assurance of the things we hoped for (Hebrew 11:1), for the things He has promised us. Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to a place he does not know so he received an inheritance and God gave him the title of “father of faith”.(Hebrews 11:8) I believe God wants us to have the faith to obey  where God tells us to go. Instead of doubt let us have faith, faith in God and His endless capabilities.

If you have faith then you must also have focus. The Bible says, that a double-minded man is unstable in all his ways (James 1:8) but focus does the other way around. Focus stables us. If we are willing to give up things for us to be more focused on bigger things, for a greater purpose and for His purpose then we are able to accomplish greater things. If we have focus, then we should also have the stamina to never give up despite the obstacles that comes our way. Be persistent. Push forward because God is ahead cheering on you, waiting for us.

We may wonder,

“What about God’s will for my job, my marriage or  where I’m supposed to live?”

I believe, these are only secondary issues in life, and there may be multiple possibilities that would be in God’s will for you.  WHAT MATTERS MOST IS THAT YOU FULFILL GOD’S ETERNAL PURPOSE REGARDLESS OF WHERE YOU LIVE OR WORK OR WHOM YOU MARRY.

No matter what we decide, we must make sure that our decisions should support His purposes for our lives.

Because at the end of our lives, as Paul said, what matters the most is that we are able to measure up to God’s plan for us.

As 1 Thessalonians 2:4b NLT says,

“For we speak as messengers approved by God to be entrusted with the Good News. Our purpose is to please God, not people. He alone examines the motives of our hearts.”

Seek God’s purpose in your life.

Keep on keeping on! Your destiny is waiting for you!
